Team for Wolves
Some big questions for this one.

1. Formation - will he stick with 3 at the back? We looked so much better against Arsenal but how much of that was down to the formation? I suspect it was more to do with our mental approach and the way we have of raising our game against the bigger sides. But I suspect that Moyes will stick with it.

2. Noble - now he's fit again will he walk back into the side? From me it's a resounding NO but I suspect Moyes will bring him back in for his leadership. Also possibly because there may be a feeling that our young, blue-booted vice-captain might have his mind elsewhere...

3. Expensive fringe players - did any of them do enough against Hull to merit a call-up? Lanzini and Anderson weren't bad but haven't done enough yet. Haller, I suspect he hasn't done enough to convince Moyes but he would get the benefit of the doubt from me. Yarmolenko was superb and must be the biggest shout. I know it was only Hull but scoring two and setting up two must have got noticed. Interestingly, most of the good stuff he did was in central areas, so I really like the idea that Stubbo and others have been advocating of playing him in a central, No.10 type of role - could be ideal for him. That means that Fornals misses out - I like him but I don't really think he offers more than Yarmolenko in any aspect of the game.

. Fabianski
. Balbuena Ogbonna Cresswell
. Rice Soucek
Fredericks Masuaku
. Bowen Yarmolenko Antonio
. Haller

Subs: Randolph, Johnson, Noble, Lanzini, Anderson

Speed seems to have gone above Cardoso in the pecking order.

Euse, I agree, the young players need competitive games with fully grown players, not other kids, to develop to premier standards.

I was quite interested when we signed Cardoso and how long has it been? and I’ve never even seen him play! We have plenty of “youngsters” that are getting too old to be youngsters but get no real chance to step up as it’s to risky to play them. It is crazy and sad.

We even have talented gifted adult players that don’t put in a shift and so it’s too risky to play them as well!! Mental.

The problem? Our incoherent stupid set up with no plan, just a short porno playing football club owner for the laugh.

Re: Team for Wolves
We looked more solid with a back 3 mainly because our defence is otherwise too tentative & Fredericks & Arthur aren’t competent in a 4.
I would say that if we are to play a 3 then Rice needs to be the middle player to step out , otherwise we are too negative.

I’d go something like

——————-Fabianski
———- Ogbonna Rice Alese
Fredericks—————————Masuaku
————— Soucek Fornals
Antonio ———- Haller ———Bowen

Mex

I'm guessing he was another Sully special agent's punt then?

Why don't they buy these players but let them stay in Portugal or wherever they are for a couple seasons? So they can get at least a hundred odd games under their belt? But no, pull the kid out of the first team after a dozen games and expect him to step up immediately.

Football finance is fuckin nuts it makes no sense in any way shape or form. I would regulate player agents like a dictator. No messing about. Cunts.

Cardoso eh?
Have you noticed that Alese starts before Cardoso in the U23s and league cup at the moment?

Re: Team for Wolves
But without Diop, right Dolph?
Wouldn’t be bad, they played well.

I just watched the highlights of the Arsenal game, the defense was quite fluid at times a back four and at times back five. What was obvious is both goals the right defense (Fredericks, Diop and Yarmolenko) failed to stop a cross and left / center (Cresswell, Masuaku and Ogbonna) failed to intercept the ball.

Ha!

Cardoso obviously...if you are voted best centre half at a Uefa European U-18 then surely you can be given a go on the left side of a back 3... I'd rather see him make a ricket or two and learn from his mistakes than seeing Cresswell and Arthur fuck up time and again without improvement.

It's gonna be the same team that played arsenal.

We all know this.

Re: Team for Wolves
I can't stand seeing Cresswell as a centre back...it pisses me off almost as much as Arthur as left back.

Cardio is 6ft 2in, naturally left footed and was voted best defender at under 18 eu

If Alese and Ashby are fit play them......they can't do any worse than Balbuena and Fredericks can they?

I feel the only way we can get anything out of this game is by fielding 13 players and hope the ref doesn’t spot it.
